we will be Wild

when the empty seeds of life have touched the hollow ground,
we will see the hard earned product of our years of empty toil.
when the work is over, we’ll look back and ask what have we found;
when the work is over, we’ll look back and ask what have we found?

the fallen of the earth have lead the earth to fall.
the cities that we built have destroyed us all.
the future that was so bright,
that civilized light,
that lead us blind into the darkness,
that is man’s eternal night.

when our paper god has burned and all around us turns to ash,
we will see the hard earned product of our years of empty toil.
when the poor have more than all the rich alive could ever dream;
when the poor have more than all the rich alive could ever dream.

the fallen of the earth have lead the earth to fall.
the cities that we built have destroyed us all.
the future that was so bright,
that civilized light,
that lead us blind into the darkness,
that is man’s eternal night.

when the civilized have conquered all, and left the earth devoid,
leaving wretched, broken earth and death, and pain in search of oil.
when the earth is dying, we’ll look back, and praise what we have found;
until She at last responds, and swallows us into the ground.

when the wild has returned and taken us to our true home,
we will see the freedom that we have yearned for, for so long.
when the kingdom has returned, we will be full of wildness, and joy;
when the kingdom has returned, we will be wild, we will be wild,
we will be Wild.
